It is exciting to me when I read something that I have been thinking about myself for some time. I would like to share with you something that I recently read that speaks to my heart. It truly is a thought to ponder. I would love to hear your thoughts.
“Sometimes we need help to understand what certain terms mean like “Heaven and Earth.”During the time of the Tabernacle of Moses which was the pattern for Solomon’s Temple, the chambers were called “Heaven, Earth, and Sea.”
The Holies of Holies was called “Heaven” the dwelling place of God.
The Holy Places “Earth.” The priesthood ministered to God in prayer
The Outer Court was called the “Sea.” Where those outside the priesthood gathered.
We know that in Ad 70, the temple was destroyed in Jerusalem and the BODY OF CHRIST BECAME THE TEMPLE NOT MADE BY HUMANS HANDS.
The body of Christ became the New Jerusalem, the New Heaven & Earth - We became a Royal Priesthood and a Holy Nation. There was no more “Sea” (Outer Court) because all had become Priests!
Now, these Scriptures make sense.
Isaiah 65-17 “For, behold I create a new heavens and a new earth: and the former shall not come into mind.”
Rev. 21:1 “Then I saw a “New heaven and a new earth,” for the the first heaven and the first earth had passed away, and there was no longer any sea.”
These facts can be found in history books written by Jewish historians, Titus. Flavius, and Josephus, whose major works were written during the Roman occupation and encompass the destruction of Jerusalem.
Knowing Jewish history and the language that they would understand gives us insight into what certain Scripture passages mean. We can gain spiritual insight and truth from other sources.
The exciting thing to focus on is that WE ARE the Tabernacle, the dwelling place of God. The Kingdom has come in us!! We thank you Jesus for your finished work at Calvary. You are in us and we are in You. Our journey begins there.”.
I just want to remind you that this is JUST THOUGHTS TO PONDER. We all as believers are seeking truth and want to know our Lord more and more.
Hi Dottie,
Steven Small here Normans son. The new heaven and earth are why climate change is not really an issue. The creation has been changing since the beginning and Christ will make all things new at his return. We have nothing to fear. Come Kord Jesus!
